Placements & pulse
Everyone on assignment right now, how the last four check-ins went, and — before the end date rather than after it — where they go next.
Every consultant means to make these calls. Then Monday happens, and the first news of a problem is a no-show on Thursday or a client ringing about it. A pulse that falls from 78 to 41 across four check-ins is a resignation you can still do something about. And the redeploy call fourteen days before the end date is the difference between a worker who stays on your book and one who takes the first thing the agency down the road offers.
On assignment now
At risk and ending firstNine of 34 shown. The rest are on the same cadence — pre-start, day 1, week 1, then fortnightly, and a pre-end call fourteen days before the finish date.
Asked what else was available, unprompted, on a Tuesday afternoon call
Consultant call today. The client has asked to extend him past 25 Sep — this is the week that decision gets made, not the week after he resigns.
- How's the job going this fortnight?
- “Not great since the new supervisor started.”
- Anything specific?
- “He changes the run order halfway through the shift. It's a waste of everyone's time.”
- Are you still happy to see the assignment out?
- “What else have you got on?”
Third declining check-in in a row, and he asked about other work unprompted. Twenty-two weeks in and the client wants him extended.
- How's the job going this fortnight?
- “Bit messy at the moment”
