Recruitment is the most regulated thing you can point an AI agent at. Work rights, labour hire licensing, award floors, anti-discrimination, privacy, Do Not Call — and on-hired workers whose safety is legally the host’s problem and practically yours. The risk is not that an agent says something awkward. It is that it places someone it shouldn’t have, and nobody can explain afterwards how that decision got made. So every rule below is visible, every hold shows its reason, and the log is the defence.

Chased sixty days out this is a text message. Found at 5:40am on the morning of the shift, it is a client ringing about an empty station.

Right to work, verified before anyone starts

Work rights are established against the register before a candidate is presented, and re-checked when a visa expiry falls inside the assignment. A résumé saying "full working rights" is a claim, not a check.

Worked through · Kofi Mensah · process worker, subclass 482
Work rights that run out inside the assignment are a gap, not a tick.
Screened at 22:41, scored 82
Available Monday, happy with the roster, own transport — everything the brief asked for
Visa current to 14 Nov
The assignment is booked through to 26 February. The right to work stops three months short of the end date
Held, and told why on the call
“I'm not going to commit you to it tonight — someone will call you tomorrow about the renewal”
A person checks the paperwork
He says the renewal is lodged. SARA writes that down and does not act on it
